Matthew Gold graduated with his Bachelors in Forensic Psychology in 2015 and received his Masters in 2018 from Florida Institute of Technology. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the same institution and has successfully defended his dissertation. Matthew is highly trained in both psychological assessment as well as substance use and mental health treatment. While his therapeutic approach is highly dependent on the needs of the client, he tends to take an existential standpoint emphasizing the here-and-now of a problem as opposed to focusing on the past. Matthew believes that among the most important things a therapist can do is empower his clients to pursue and appreciate a fulfilling life – more than learning to survive, Matthew hopes to help people thrive. When he is not working with a client, working on psychological assessment, or typing up notes, you will often find him practicing zen meditation in his office.
