Hayden Garrett
Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayden Garrett brings a global perspective to her work in mental health, shaped by her education in Zermatt, Switzerland, and at a boarding school in Connecticut. Early academic experiences at Oxford University and Vanderbilt University sparked her passion for psychology, leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience at UNC Chapel Hill and, currently, a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), specializing in Integrated Behavioral Health and Neuroscience.
Hayden has extensive experience in providing evidence-based care and fostering mental health awareness. Her roles include:
• Student Clinician at FIT Community Psychological Services: Delivering therapy and assessments for adults.
• Crisis Counselor with Crisis Text Line: Supporting individuals in real-time mental health crises.
• Pediatric Surgery Intern at Johns Hopkins Hospital: Assisting with trauma-informed care for young patients.
She has also worked to promote mental health and suicide prevention through Mission 34, supported students with learning disabilities as a consultant intern, and provided academic mentorship as a private tutor.
Certified in Basic Life Support, CPR, Suicide Prevention, and Youth Mental Health First Aid, she is an active member of the American Psychological Association and its divisions for Neuropsychology and Child Psychology.
With her blend of clinical expertise, global perspective, and commitment to mental health, Hayden is passionate about helping individuals thrive through integrated, evidence-based care.
