Denise Wegerif
Denise Wegerif is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. She graduated with her MA from the University of Central Florida, her Masters of Divinity (MDiv) from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville Kentucky, and her BA from the University of Florida.
Denise has extensive experience in the fields of addiction (and addictive family systems), grief, trauma, anxiety and related disorders, as well as, mood disorders including bi-polar and depression. Denise’s therapeutic stance is to walk alongside her clients, being a careful and caring listener as they unfold, and discover the matters of heart and head that they choose to address in therapy. Additionally, from a person-centered framework which upholds genuineness of the counselor, and unconditional positive regard and empathic understanding toward the client, Denise is able to incorporate elements of CBT, DBT, ACT, and Family Systems theory. Denise is always willing to explore existential topics of meaning and purpose, and specifically, should the client choose, to conduct the therapeutic exchange from a Christian, theologically sound, framework.
Denise and her husband Dan are continually grateful for 39 years of marriage, their four grown married children, whom Denise homeschooled, and ten grandchildren
