Zachary Tokar

MA, Doctoral Student Intern

Zach is a 4th-year graduate student pursuing his doctorate in clinical psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology, where he previously earned his Masters degree.

 Originally from Cleveland, OH, Zach graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology from Cleveland State University in 2018. During his undergraduate years, he conducted research on mood and emotion regulation in a lab while also working in a psychiatric inpatient hospital.

Before joining Livewell, Zach trained in hospital systems like BayCare Health System and Brevard Health Alliance, gaining experience in integrated behavioral health. Currently, he thrives on working with a diverse clientele and considers himself a generalist in the field. 

Zach assists individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, specific phobias, bipolar disorder, addiction, personality disorders, and psychosis. As an EMDR therapist, he specializes in trauma and grief, advocating for EMDR therapy's effectiveness. Zach also offers spiritual/faith-based counseling, tailoring his approach to meet clients where they are on their unique journeys, respecting their belief systems.
