Kate Albarella

RD, LDN, CEDS-S

On a mission to redefine wellness from the inside out, Kate Albarella is a mental health counseling student, licensed dietitian, and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist who is also an Approved Consultant through the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp). Illuminating the path to holistic wellness and healing through a trauma-informed approach, she specializes in treating eating disorders. Kate is also a certified intuitive eating counselor and trained yoga instructor. 

Her educational journey began at the University of New Haven in Connecticut, followed by a dietetic internship at the University of Saint Joseph. Currently pursuing her Master's in mental health counseling through Southern New Hampshire University, she will complete her current program in summer 2024. 

As a dietitian, she has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has also served as program director for a residential eating disorder program, offering her expertise in dietetics and counseling to support the healing of others. With a focus on adults, adolescents, and families, Kate has presented on eating disorders at various conferences and universities.

Utilizing a relational approach, Kate integrates psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, Adlerian theory, and somatic practices into her work. She also incorporates techniques from CBT, DBT, and ACT therapies, alongside a combination of Bowen family systems and the Satir Approach in family work. 

When not learning and working, Kate cherishes time with her husband, twin children, and her cats. She enjoys music, WWE wrestling, and spending time outdoors.
